Privacy

Effective October 20, 2026. Applies to the Hiders Seekers iPhone app and the web version at hide-seek.beyondthecourse.app.

In short: no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. The name you type is shown to the people in your game and is forgotten when the game ends.

What you give the game

A player name of up to 16 characters, plus the color and hat you pick for your character. Your device remembers them so you don't have to type them again. You can change them at any time.

What the game server sees

While you are in a game, the server receives your name, color and hat so other players in the same game can see them, and where your character is in the house so the game can run. It keeps this in memory only while the game exists. Nothing is written to a database or to disk, and it is gone once everyone has left the game (or 45 seconds after you disconnect, if you don't come back).

The server's own log records when games start and end using random session numbers. It does not record names or locations of players in the game.

Connections pass through Cloudflare, which carries the traffic to our server. Cloudflare handles that traffic under its own privacy policy and does not receive anything from us beyond the connection itself.

What we don't do

Children

Hiders Seekers is made for families, including young children. We don't ask for any personal information. Games are private: only people with the four-letter code can join. Rude names are refused, the host can remove a player, and anyone can report a name. We suggest children play under a nickname rather than their full name.

Reports and email

If you report a name or write to us, we receive your email and use it only to answer you and keep the game safe. We delete it when it is no longer needed.
